The flat is located in the district of San Vicente, next to the Museum of Fine Arts of Seville, one of the main art galleries in Spain. It is a "castizo" neighbourhood within the old town and next to the Guadalquivir.
These are streets of great Sevillian tradition, with magnificent houses, some with large courtyards, and it is a key point to enjoy Holy Week. It has some very important squares such as the Plaza de San Lorenzo where the basilica of the Cristo del Gran Poder is located, a place of continuous pilgrimage for Sevillians and foreigners who are devoted to its image. In the same square is the Parish Church of San Lorenzo, which is very rich in heritage, with its main altar standing out.
The Plaza del Museo, presided over by the statue of Murillo and populated with trees, is a pleasant area to sit and contemplate the spectacular Sevillian houses and palaces in the surrounding area. It is dominated by the Museo de Bellas Artes building, which houses works by Murillo, Valdés Leal, Zurbarán and many other painters and sculptors. On Sunday mornings there is a street market of painters in the square, which is well worth a visit.
The Alameda de Hércules is nearby, a large area lined with poplars with a great historical flavour. It is a place with an atmosphere of contrasts, ideal for enjoying the open air and its many leisure options.
Don't miss a stroll through its main streets; San Vicente, Santa Clara, Jesús de la Vera Cruz, Baños and Torneo. You will find churches, convents and palaces that will make you enjoy a very pleasant walk. In Calle Torneo, which borders the river, there is a riverside promenade ideal for sports.
The flat is in a privileged location to visit the city on foot. If you need it you have all kinds of public transport at your disposal.
